ABOUT CASA

CASA provides a powerful voice and a meaningful connection for children who have experienced abuse, neglect and abandonment.

Formed in 1985, CASA of Orange County is a member of the National CASA/GAL Association for Children. At our chapter, the mission is focused solely and completely on the children of Orange County, California. We are a privately-funded non-profit organization that serves severely abused, neglected and abandoned children. Your donations provide for the recruitment, training, and continued support of volunteers who advocate and mentor these children, representing their best interest in the courtroom, school and beyond. Thanks to you and our community partners, we have trained more than 4,725 volunteers to advocate on behalf of over 12,964 youth in the Orange County foster care system.

“I am the only person in my CASA child’s life who isn’t paid,” says Joy Winger, a CASA volunteer. “Everyone in the child’s life is paid: their therapist, their foster parents, their social worker. These kids know that. But when a CASA volunteer comes and says, ‘I am here, just for you,’ that is life-changing.”

We believe that the protection of all children is a fundamental obligation of our society and therefore our advocates and staff will fight for and protect a child’s right to be safe, to be treated with dignity and respect and to live in a healthy environment where they can learn and grow.
